Saturday ; August 11 :   A concerted attack on cancer will take place.as all across the country British car clubs plan their strategies.   Some clubs will raise money; others will host an event to honor a fallen friend.  Every group will have his or her reason for joining the Drive. 

Our club has planned two concurrent drives with the purpose of raising funds for "DRIVE AWAY CANCER", one in the North LA area and one in the South Bay area.   Peter Roses will head up the North LA drive and Corky Holt is setting up the South Bay drive. All British Marques will be invited to join us.  We will be collecting checks made out to "DRIVE AWAY CANCER" in support of AHA member John Nikas who has been on a marathon drive across the US bringing a message of hope to so many. 

• North LA Drive Details: Our North LA gathering point will be at the UA Theater in La Canada. From the UA we have two options; the first will be to meet up with Corky in Long Beach and join the planned tour of the USS Iowa. See details below. Follow up Corky if you plan this option. The second option will be to join us for a short ride in the Glendale Mts.with  a destination breakfast in Montrose.Departure at 8AM from the UA Theatre. With both options we will be collecting your generous contributions to Drive for Cancer. • South Bay Drive Details:  This group of Brits will gather at the parking lot of Starbucks on Hawthorne & Artesia at 8:30 AM departing at 9AM. The drive will proceed along the scenic Palos Verdes coast on to visit the USS Iowa recently berthed in the Long Beach Harbor. We will be parking at the Ship Parking Lot ($1/hr).  Free shuttle service is .provided to the San Pedro area where there are several restaurants for lunch following the tour.  Tour of the Iowa is $18 age 17-61, $15 for 62+ and $10 for 17 & under. OR buy on line and avoid the wait  ...google "Pacific Battleship" is the best way to link.
