As George McHarris announced, we have developed an annual contest which will track and reward the top members for their attendance at calendared club events (similar to the San Diego Healey club’s “Car of the Year” award).
Club officers will designate points earned for attending the event and this will appear on the website event calendar. The member responsible for the event will collect attendance information and give the results to Mike Scroggie, who will keep the point totals by member.
In case we incorrectly record attendance, we will rely on the “honor system” whereby each club member can let Mike know what events they attended each month. See below for the current point totals.
July 11 - 11AM - 6PM: This is a terrific Park, and quite large; complete with a lake, picnic tables, and lots of big shade trees. There are BBQ's in the park and you can bring your own too, so bring a picnic lunch, and put your main dish on the grill. Although there are picnic tables available, it would be prudent to bring a couple of chairs, just in case. Paper products, plastic utensils, side dishes, desert and soft drinks & ice will be provided for 20+people.
Kenny and Jeanne Deringer will go over early in hopes of staking out a good loction with table(s) and BBQ.
It is near the UCI Campus and not far from the 405 FWY. It should be a great place for a leisurely picnic and catch up with Healey people. 11AM - 6 PM ( 5 Points)

NOVEMBER 13 – 15 - Those who have joined us in the past know what a perfect get-away it is and how a long weekend there just refreshes the soul! For those new to Catalina, the Pavilion Lodge is located in Avalon, right across the sidewalk from the water. There’s always plenty do; take a walk on the pier, feast on local seafood and other delicacies at one of the many cafes or restaurants, stroll along the water’s edge and watch a sunset or take in a movie at the famous Casino, which has an amazing theater. Go fishing or hiking, enjoy the shops, rent a golf car for a great way to sight-see (and save your feet), take a voyage on the glass bottom boat or submarine.
