We are halfway through summer and the heat is building and huge surf is back making for great drives along the coast. But it’s pretty warm for long drives inland. On a positive note, we are still getting out early in the morning to our C&C events and home before the heat of the day ramps up.
75th Anniversary International Healey Meet- We are getting closer to the date with only 10 months to go. We continue to make good progress towards our goal for registrations. The Golden Gate club continues to far outpace our club in registrations, so we need to step up our game. I encourage you to sign up ans join in the festivities. It promises to be a great time. When you have a couple of minutes, you should go to IHM2027.com (or try to access it via our club’s website at www.austin-healey.org) and check out the details. There will be lots of great cars, exhibits, drives, and social events planned to keep everyone busy. There continues to be lots of discussions on the pre-and-post events as well. I will share more as the information becomes available. Also, you may want to check out the regalia. As always, Steve Kirby has pulled together a great set of goodies for the event.
Other Great Healey Gatherings- You may want to consider joining the “Conclave 50” being sponsored by the Mid-West Austin Healey Club and being held in Galena, IL, Sept 17-20. It offers some absolutely beautiful countryside for drives along with all the normal Healey gathering activities. Or you may want to consider joining in on the “SE Classic XXXIX” being held in Dahlonega, GA. It also offers some stunning drives and adventures as well. In addition to these events, our own Peter Roses is leading a group of intrepid souls on a leaf peeping drive starting in Denver and working their way through some amazing areas in the Rockies and down trough Monument Valley and ultimately to Sedona, AZ. Unfortunately, this trip is full, but we’ll keep you up to date with lots of details as the folks stop along the way and share lots of pictures.
2026 Holiday Party- As a heads-up/ Save the Date. Anna Johansson and George Merino are in coordination with the Shoreline Yacht Club to again host our annual Holiday party. It is tentatively planned for Sunday, December 13th, so pencil it in and we will share more information as we get closer.
Western Regional Tech Sessions- In Steve’s absence while touring Italy, Peter held the Western regional tech session on July 30th. As always, it was rich in information where members asked questions and several tech experts discussed the technical issues and made recommendations/ presented potential solutions. Our tech experts represent well over a hundred years of knowledge and experience.
You may want to consider joining the National Club and joining us for these tech sessions. It is time well spent. Home - Austin Healey Club of America, Inc.
As always, when considering having work done on your cars, please consider our sponsors. They help our club and provide rare (albeit vanishing) and needed services and products. Safe motoring, stay well and see you at the upcoming events.
