Well, YHW 2025 was a great success. After the last-minute drops and adds, we ended up with 116 attendees who came from as far east as Illinois, Michigan and Colorado. We had participants from seven Healey clubs and two British car clubs in all. Although this was referred to as a Healey Lite - there was no shortage of socializing and two beautiful drives - the Poker Run led by Peter Roses went through Yosemite Valley in perfect fall weather and ended up at the Ahwahnee Hotel for an optional tour and lunch. The following day a scenic drive was led by Dick Ames up to Glacier Point and several folks continued on to the giant redwoods. Although the park was officially closed due to the Government shutdown, it remained open with the shops and stores open to help us get our provisions.
As with our other CHWs, there were activities before and after YHW. On the way up some folks caravanned from So Cal up the western side of the Sieras arriving a day early. Another group joined the GGAHC folks on a Sierras Passes tour, where they enjoyed beautiful scenery and some amazing roads.
Another group drove up the eastern side of the Sierras with a stay over in Mammoth to get some Jly fishing in, while another group did a pontoon boat ride for an impromptu party. After YHW a group left for Nevada to support a British car club’s 35th anniversary while another group enjoyed a Death Valley visit.
At the farewell dinner, Steve Kirby announced that the CHW 2026 will be held in San Diego in early May.
We hope to see you all there!
