British Car Night, Belmont Pier 9/2

I met Dawn Lakowski for another early dinner, this time at La Parolaccia Osteria in Long Beach. It's a solid Roman Italian restaurant and they love classic cars. In fact, they host a yearly Italian car show called Focaccia and Coffee, and they love our Healeys, so consider attending if you have an Italian or British car! The restaurant has an authentic Italian vibe with great décor, including their indoor Fiat and several Vespas. After a great meal of salad, pizza and beer with Dawn, I was off to Belmont Shore. I arrived to find the usual suspects, Phil Caliva, his wife Nancy and Dan O’Neill with his buddy Eric Hankey. It was a gorgeous night, sunny and warm. It really is a beautiful time of day at the beach. The group was excited to see Bob Bolling roll in, and there were other non-Healey members parked and chatting in the parking lot before they headed for the bar.
The only bummer? No ice cream truck! And I really wanted an ice cream. You know what they say? “You don’t know what you’ve got ‘til it’s gone.” So true.
